Pancakes

Finally found a recipe that gives fluffy and thick pancakes, courtesy of Betty Crocker's. Lovely saturday morning breakfast. Once again, recipe to follow. Posted by Picasa

Pancakes (betty crocker’s – thick and fluffy)

1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour (if using self-raising omit baking powder and salt)
¾ cup milk
1 tablespoon granulated or packed brown sugar
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
butter, stick margarine or shortening
1. beat egg till fluffy, beat in remaining ingredients except butter just until smooth
2. for thinner pancakes stir in additional 1 to 2 tablespoon milk
3. heat griddle or skillet, grease if necessary
4. for each pancake, pour slightly less than ¼ cup batter, cook till bubbly on top, puffed and dry around edges, turn and cook other side until golden brown.

got a question from someone who asked what happened to the butter? well, butter is for sapu-ing on the pan so that the pancakes don't stick.
