bubur pulut hitam


First attempt at bubur pulut hitam
1. Soak about 300 gram beras pulut hitam - few hours (Half day/overnight)
2. boil in water (banyak jugak la) + daun pandan - i used a pressure cooker so it took about 40 mins total
3. Add caster sugar 100 g + brown sugar 100 g
4. Add bit of santan (to taste actually)
5. Add bit of salt (?about 1 teaspoon - to taste)
serve with thick santan - cook 1 packet of instant coconut + bit of water + bit of salt.

dinner

this was nasi pilaf (modified), chicken kebab and tomato salad.

sambal

Trying out sambal nasi lemak .. nice for sunday breakfast.

Sambal
equal numbers of cili kering + bawang merah
cili kering buang biji and blend with bawang merah.
tumis (more minyak than you would normally use...)
add 1 sliced onion
air asam jawa from about 'secekup' asam jawa
salt
sugar - went overboard - 2 heaped tablespoons (!!)
Still trying to improve the nasi bit. Next change!

Tried this recipe given by Pah. Sedap!


3/4 cawan gula halus
1/2 cawan tepung custard
1 cawan tepung jagung
1 cawan marjerin
2 biji telur (diambil telur merah sahaja)
sedikit vanilla
tepung gandum secukupnya.

Cara nak buatnya, standardlah. Creaming method.

Tepung gandum tu tambah sampai dapat a soft and nice dough. Kalau I sukat, lebih kurang 2 cawan-2 cawan setengah.

revival

Was at a makan-makan do yesterday and had a fantastic feast of mushroom soup + garlic bread, crackers + salsa pasta (couldn't quite get the fancy name), Morocco chicken and salad. Gorgeous dessert of cheesecake, ice-cream and fruits. Anyway, we decided to revive this blog, mainly because it can, in times of desperation particularly, give ideas on what to cook. Only one condition placed, and that is that the recipes should have been tried and tested (and works :)).
